In Transit

I have so many posts from our trip saved in my "drafts". I'll just go ahead and post them as-is for now and hope to come back and edit them later.
There was a lot to be said about getting from point A to point B on this trip. We spent a lot of time in taxis, boats, buses, vans and trains. I really loved our transit time because it required us to have downtime and be crammed together and just be able to chat and bond, ya know?
We took an all day bus from Puno to Cusco.
Bye Titicaca!
(btw, Titicaca actually translates to mean "grey puma", which isn't funny...)

We had some nice stops along the way
I regret not buying more souvenirs.
The countryside was so refreshing.

The landscape changed so much along the way. We reached our highest point in the Andes and it was breathtaking. Literally. We did okay the first day with the altitude and then that first night we were brushing our teeth and suddenly we were panting like it was the hardest thing ever. The first night we didn't sleep too well because the change in altitude gave us headaches and our bodies took a couple of days to fully adjust.
Christmas shopping. Check.
Baby llama!? Yes, please.
Our friends the McCowns took all of these pictures on this here trip. They had fancy cameras and took all of the same pictures we did with our phones, but we eventually just stopped taking pictures ourselves and left it up to them and their sweet lenses.
Wild herd of alpacas!
I just can't be stopped sometimes. Animals!
Some more ruins along the way. It was really hard to understand our guides translation. But we're pretty sure there was something said about sacrificing virgins.
There are little ceramic bulls on the rooftops all over the sacred valley to bring good luck to the home.

The whole gang. I sat in back between my bros for old time's sake. We're much better travelers than back in the day. Minimal teasing, that is.
miles of souvenirs
We were saying that these terraces would make for a great outdoor concert.

There are little holes in the cliff-side that are tombs, actually. With dead looking bodies in them.
