The hard part is trying to see everyone and balancing time between the in-laws who live at opposites ends of the valley. We always leave feeling like we didn't really get enough time there. Our plan for next time is to not tell anyone we're coming, except for family, that way we can spend more time relaxing and not worrying about leaving anyone out...it gets hectic.
One thing that was a must-do on my list was go on a hike with my dad. It has honestly been years since I've gotten to do this, and I've been craving a nice back country hike for sooo long. Hiking with my dad is always an adventure, your odds of something fatal happening increase exponentially when you go into the wilds with Jack. I tried to get my mom to sneakily pack us some snacks, but when we got to the trail head my dad said we didn't need any snacks because there are plenty of edible plants to eat along the trail. Ha! A 10 mile hike sustained on eating flower petals...
Dad wanted proof that I was a true 'tree hugger'
We were fortunate to have Jon-David's little bro come with us. We were totally flattered that he made time for us in his busy teenage life.
Polygamist cave, where they apparently hid out from the law.
Well, we survived, and it was AWESOME! We were even introduced to a flower that tastes like oysters...

Well, we'll just have to come visit you guys in NYC sometime! Or, you guys could move back to Utah. Just sayin'. :)
What a beautiful hike! Looks like fun!
So glad you could escape the relatives and come spend time with us. We always love having you here!
